Dona Ana Beach, was considered the “best in the world” and the “most beautiful of Portugal” — another award to Lagos beaches. The distinction is awarded by the prestigious magazine “Condé Nast Traveller”.

Lagos Best Beaches
Condé Nast Traveller recently published a list of those considered to be the 50 best beaches in the world. In addition to the distinguished Dona Ana beach, listed three more Portuguese beaches.

Another Portuguese beach that appears in the top 50 is Santa Cruz, ranking in the 16th position. “Only half an hour from Lisbon”, this beach is “all the charm of the Portuguese coast,” says the magazine.

The 18th place is occupied by Praia do Amado in Aljezur, “one of the best beaches in all of Europe to practice all kinds of water sports”, especially surfing, according to Condé Nast Traveller, which still says that it was a “paradise lost in the Algarve, far from everything” and that “due to its large size, it’s never crowded”, and that is its great advantage.

The last Portuguese representation in the list of world’s best beaches, it’s a beach located in the western Algarve. Classified in 46th position, Alemão Beach, located in Portimão and also known as Barranco das Canas and whose name comes from the first house built there, a man of German nationality, has its peculiarity “in the cliffs that make up the landscape and stones that blend with the blue sea”, emphasises the publication.
